chemolabPress Release:

Chemotherapy Center Grand Opening at Mammoth Hospital

By Ehren Goetz, Public Relations Coordinator

Mammoth Hospital is pleased to announce the newly renovated and redesigned Chemotherapy Infusion Center, to facilitate chemolabribbonaccess to cancer care services in the Eastern Sierra.

For the last couple of years, Mammoth Hospital has provided follow-up chemotherapy working closely with the patient’s oncologist to allow local cancer patients to receive most of their treatment right here in Mammoth.  “We want to contribute as much as we can to their healing process and give them a team of health care providers right here in the Eastern Sierra that they can count on,” says Dr. Murat Akalin, Medical Director of Chemotherapy Infusion Services.

“It is a true blessing to have these resources right at home,” says McGrale, who has been an oncology patient since 1985.  McGrale used to travel outside of the area for her treatments and never found the continuity and personalized care she found in her own hometown.  “The compassion and kindness at Mammoth Hospital is like nothing I have experienced anywhere else,” McGrale says.  “These people are like my own personal guardian angels.”  She considers herself very lucky to be able to receive treatment at Mammoth Hospital, and to be able to go home to her own bed the same evening.
