Court Judge Dean Stout. After welcoming everyone and introducing many of the dignitaries in the room, Stout said a few words on the importance of this day for the new Supervisors and for the citizens of Inyo County. His advice to them was to always use their best judgment, to always do what they believed to be in the best interests of the people they represent, and to be prepared to accept criticism, for that also comes with the job. Before administering the oath, he offered a quote from Theodore Roosevelt on leadership.

Standing together, the three new Supervisors went from newly-elected to currently serving on the Board of Supervisors. Their first day of “official” business starts on the following day.
