Yes, Mr. Gillespie’s motorcycle shop, Mr. Nole’s restaurant, and a few other businesses will see an increase in profit but at what expense to other tourist dependent businesses as well as to our local quality of life. Do we really want Bishop to be an off road attraction for all… Read more »
I wish Mammoth would have something similar to this, after all we are all about recreation. Its kind of silly to have to load your motorcycle into your truck or trailer just to go a mile or two only to see Snowcreek employees driving on their quads along side the… Read more »
I agree with Charles a hundred precent. I want the trail system and plan on going to one of the meetings in support. But the time has come to let the info out.
Attention City of Bishop and ICSD:
Please make this information available online so the citizens and all other stakeholders who are unable to make these meetings can review what is being proposed.
Thank you.
Charles, This is a project handled by Dick Noles and Randy Gillespie of Bishop. It is not an Inyo County Sheriff project. I’m not sure how involved the City of Bishop will be. My suggestion is to call City of Bishop, 873-5863 or Noles or Gillespie if you want something… Read more »
Please let me get this straight….Someone recently told me this “trail system” is going to include town and residential streets so these ATV’ers have access to local business’…such as fast-food restaurants, convienience stores…..and,of course, taverns and bars..Will this mean vehicle traffic will have to dodge, drive around and deal with them on… Read more »

Mark….We’ll see….if,and when,it happens..Just what Law Enforcement needs…..to consentrate on a bunch of ATV’ers driving too fast on city streets, checking for equipment violations, drivers licences and insurance and babysitting them rather than keeping things safe on HWY 395 making it tougher for the speeders and drug-runners…like they do up in Lee… Read more »
Wayne- I think you are off base with a few of your statements. I don’t think you will see ATV’s parked outside the bars and I know they will all have to obey all the local driving laws. Like license and insurance, lights and speed limits. I heard they will… Read more »
Trouble….My statements are mostly based on what I’ve seen and witnessed…Back in the early 70’s,there used to be a little restaurant called “The Ponderosa” out on,I think it was 170th St.East and Ave.J,between Lancaster and Lake Los Angeles…a quiet little “Mom and Pop” place to eat, then go for a hike, camp… Read more »
