dwpsurveyThe gangbusters snowfall this winter has tapered off but still sits above the long-term average snowpack. DWP’s website shows Mammoth Pass Snowpack at 34.2 inches of water which is almost level with the wettest year on record, 1982-83 but well above the long-term average.

DWP’s snow pillow readings show Mammoth Pass at 136% of normal to date. Rock Creek, 199%; South Lake at 205%; Big Pine at 174% and Cottonwood Lakes in the south at 215%.

Precipitation readings from DWP show Long Valley at 236% of normal to date; Bishop, 242%; Big Pine, 245%; Independence at 307% of normal to date. South Haiwee, 235% and Los Angeles, 211%.
