The filing period to run for Bishop City Council ends this Friday. So far it appears five candidates will run for three open seats.

With two days left to file, the same candidates that took out papers to run right after the filing period opened remain the only candidates.

The council seats currently held by Susan Cullen, Frank Crom, and Martin Smiley, Connolly are all up for re-election this year.

Smiley, Connolly and Susan Cullen have both turned in the paperwork to run again, according to City officials.

Mary Baker, and Laura Smith, David Stottlemeyre, have also now turned in the paperwork to run for city council.

The actual election isnt until March, but the last day to turn in papers to run for Bishop City Council is Friday unless one of the incumbents decides not to run again. In that case, the deadline is extended to December 10th.

If nothing changes by the deadline, it looks like Bishop voters will have five candidates to choose from for three seats on the council.
