A stolen vehicle led to the arrest of a Bishop resident Monday night. Highway Patrol Officers took the report on a Blue Toyota Previa stolen out of the Paiute Palace parking lot at 7:45 pm. The CHP put the call out to be on the look out for the Toyota and within ten minutes the Bishop Police spotted a vehicle matching that description, officers report.

Officers stopped the vehicle at the Pizza Factory where further investigation led to the arrest of 31 year old Bishop Resident, Ryan Lent. Officers report that Lent was charged with alleged vehicle theft along with alleged driving under the influence.

Meanwhile, car crimes reported in Mammoth Lakes. Town official urged residents to keep their cars locked after a string of thefts from unlocked vehicles in the Sierra Valley sites. Mammoth Police Sgt. Paul Dostie reports about seven unlocked vehicles had items removed, like cds and iPods. Dostie says that the crimes occurred over a week ago and appear to have tapered off.
