Bishop Police Department press release
Friday morning at approximately 7:14 a.m., a citizen reported a vehicle fleeing southbound on Sunland Dr. after crashing into a fence on Home St.
Law enforcement officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and
attempted a traffic stop. The unidentified suspect driver sped up with officers pursuing. A tactical intervention was attempted, which ended the pursuit.
Officers contacted the solo occupant, Dillon Smith, who showed the objective signs of drug intoxication. Marijuana and a loaded handgun were found inside the car.
Smith was arrested and transported to the hospital for a blood sample and medical clearance. He later was booked into the Inyo County Jail on the following charges:
20002(a) CVC – hit/run
2800.1(a) CVC – failure to yield
23152(e) CVC – DUI
25850(a) PC – loaded firearm in vehicle
Why is there no record of this arrest on the ICSO website? Plenty of others though, Inyo county legal system sure does seem to have plenty of work.

It was opening day of duck hunting and half the town had “guns” in their cars. How long should he get for hitting a dense post ang fleeing lower?
A “handgun” for duck hunting???????
Why DOES IT seem whenever someone has a loaded weapon, either in their vehicle or on their person,it also involves intoxication or DUI ?…and they’re usually a felon,or,at the least, one of those in and out and in and out of jail ?
Because some people are stupid.
