Christopher Alan Stading, 42, of Costa Mesa.

On Wednesday February 1, 2012 at approximately 0659 hours, the Bishop Police Department was notified of a vehicle break-in and several items had been stolen from inside the locked vehicle. When a Bishop Police Officer arrived on scene; they made contact with the victim of the burglarized vehicle. It was determined by the victim she had her lap top; cell phone; and black soft suitcase missing from her vehicle. The victim provided a detailed description of the possible suspect.

Bishop Police Department Officers, along with the assistance of the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department conducted area searches for the possible suspect. Bishop Police Dispatch was also calling local businesses and inquiring if the potential suspect had been seen. It was determined, the suspect matching the victim’s description was currently at McDonald’s, located at 562 N. Main.

Officers responded and made contact with STADING, Christopher Alan inside McDonalds. STADING was in possession of all of the stolen property identified by the victim. STADING was arrested without incident, and later transported to the Inyo County Jail and is currently awaiting arraignment on the listed charges above.
