Press release

The Rotary Club of Bishop Noon and the Rotary Club of Bishop Sunrise were happy and proud to help support the Wild Iris Family Counseling and Crisis Center McCutcheon House Transitional Housing Project. The two clubs, with the support of a Rotary District 5190 District Service Grant, contributed $8,000.00 to the project, and also pitched in some elbow grease to help clean and prepare the property for its use.

The project is offering safe transitional housing for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and their families. “Transitional housing” is designed to help people after the immediate crisis has past, but who need assistance integrating back into the community. In addition to providing temporary accommodation, the project also provides skills training and on-going counselling.

While the Rotary contribution is a big help, Wild Iris is still looking for additional sponsors to help with remodeling costs for the new facility. Any one (or any group) interested in assisting can contact Trina Tobey at Wild Iris at 760.873.9222×1.
