Graffiti on local buildings and signs has a way of raising the blood pressure for many local residents. With gang inspired graffiti in Bishop over the summer, some were happy to hear that the police arrested two juveniles in relation to that spray paint spree on downtown businesses.

In the latest round of vandalism, officers with the Bishop Police and the Inyo Sheriffs Department have looked into graffiti spray painted all over the road sign that advertises for the Galen Rowell Mountain Light Gallery at Highway 395 and Barlow Lane.

Its not known for certain when the barely decipherable scribbles were painted on the sign, but staff at the Mountain Light Gallery report that they noticed the damage Friday morning. For the sign company to replace the panels, the price tag is expected to run $900.
