Elections officials have now tallied the last of the provisional ballots in Inyo County.

The race for Inyo County Superior Court Judge went down to the wire and beyond as the numbers remained too close to call until Thursday afternoon. With the final tally completed, incumbent Superior Court Judge Brian Lamb will retain his job.

After the polls closed November 4th, 82 votes separated Judge Lamb from Challenger Tom Hardy. An additional 1200 mail-in ballots were counted up by the end of last week, leaving Brian Lamb ahead by 80 votes, but there were still 116 provisional ballots that had to be verified and counted by hand.

Those ballots have now been counted giving Brian Lamb a total of 4117 votes to Tom Hardy with 4019 votes, a difference that had grown to 98 votes.
