Bridgeport man badly injured in ATV wreck

On Sunday, August 24, 2014, at approximately 10:35 A.M., California Highway Patrol Bishop Communications Center received a report of an all-terrain vehicle collision at the Bridgeport Reservoir. The California Highway Patrol, Mono County Paramedic Fire/Rescue, Bridgeport Fire Department and United States Forest Service Fire personnel responded to the scene.

Once on scene, emergency personnel located Mr. Brad L. Dunn, 49, of Bridgeport, California still inside a black, 2014 Polaris Razor all-terrain vehicle being attended to by witnesses. Mr. Dunn was badly injured and transported by Care Flight to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada.

A preliminary investigation revealed Mr. Dunn was driving his Polaris all-terrain vehicle along the dry lake bed of the Bridgeport Reservoir at a high rate of speed when he lost control and overturned multiple times. Unfortunately, preliminary information indicates Mr. Dunn was not wearing a helmet or seatbelt. The collision remains under investigation.

Carson City resident injured in motorcycle accident

On Sunday, August 24, 2014, at approximately 1:25 P.M., California Highway Patrol Bishop Communications Center received a report of a motorcycle collision on State Route (SR) 89, approximately two miles north of US-395.

A CHP officer from the Coleville Resident Post responded to the collision scene and initiated an investigation. The driver of the motorcycle, Ms. Shelly Harmon, age 44, of Carson City, Nevada was located at the scene being attended to by Mono County Paramedic Fire/Rescue and the Antelope Valley Fire Department.

The preliminary investigation revealed Ms. Harmon was riding her 2001 Harley Davidson southbound on SR-89, west of US-395 when she collided with a rock in the roadway. The initial collision caused Ms. Harmon to lose control of her motorcycle. Ms. Harmon traveled off the roadway and down a steep dirt embankment where she was ejected from the motorcycle. Ms. Harmon was wearing proper safety equipment which may have mitigated her injuries. Ms. Harmon was transported by ground ambulance to US-395 and SR-208 (Nevada) where she was transferred to Care Flight and flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada.
