MONO COUNTY- On November 21, 2013, at approximately 1745 hours, a three vehicle collision occurred on southbound US-395, just north of Lower Rock Creek Road, in Mono County.

Bishop CHP Officer R. Hudachek (43), was in a black and white Ford Crown Victoria, parked directly in front of a disabled Toyota 4-Runner occupied by Mr. Colby Coats (Mammoth Lakes, 30). The Toyota was involved in a previous solo vehicle collision and was facing northbound on the southbound right shoulder of US-395. Officer Hudachek was sitting inside the patrol vehicle with the rear facing emergency lights activated in an effort to warn other drivers of the icy road conditions.

Lina Myers (Mammoth Lakes, 55) was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on

US-395, in the #1 lane, entering a curve in the roadway. Myers observed the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights ahead and attempted to slow down. The Jeep was traveling at approximately 45 mph when Myers lost control due to the icy road conditions. The Jeep continued out of control onto the right shoulder where it collided with the rear of the CHP patrol vehicle. The patrol vehicle was pushed forward into the Toyota.

As a result, Myers and Officer Hudachek were subsequently transported to Northern Inyo Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
