Warm and dry today as high pressure passes over the Sierra and Western Nevada. By Tuesday a trough will track over Northern California, setting the stage for a stronger system Wednesday night. So a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday towards Yosemite. Along with this, a good cooling trend will ensue with temperatures some 5 – 10 degrees below today. Thereafter, Friday ridging builds in, upping the temps back to normal for the weekend. Things still look hot for the holiday July 4th weekend.

Owens Valley:

Today: Sunny. Highs 93 – 96 / Lows 60 – 70. Winds S 10 – 15 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny. Highs 92  – 95 / Lows 61 – 71. Winds W 10 – 20 mph.

Town of Mammoth Lakes (7,800 – 8,200 feet):

Today: Sunny.  Highs 78 / Lows 48. Winds W 5  – 10 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Highs 76 / Lows 47. Winds W 5 – 15 mph.

Mono County:

Today: Sunny. Highs 79 – 89 / Lows 37 – 47. Winds W 10 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny. Highs 78 – 88 / Lows 37 – 47. Winds W 10 – 15 mph.
