Convection yesterday was not a pronounced as Tuesday, with just a few elevated build ups here and there. The ridge of high pressure centered over New Mexico, will strengthen today and Friday. This will cause temperatures to remain above seasonal norms. As the ridge shifts westward, it may bring some moisture into our area Friday and over the weekend, particularly in Mono County. A trough of low pressure will push into far Northern California and the PACNW Monday into Tuesday. This will start to flatten the ridge and initiate a slow cooling trend for our district; not much here, but every few degrees helps. Continued cooling next week with max highs in the Owens Valley at about 95 degrees and Mammoth near 75.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today & Friday: Mostly sunny days and partly cloudy evenings. Highs around 100 and lows in the mid 50s. Winds SE 5 – 15 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today & Friday: Sunny days becoming partly cloudy with a slight chance of thunderstorms Friday. Highs 84 – 89 and lows 42 – 52. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph G 30.
