FORECAST: The Owens Valley, Mammoth and Mono County

MONDAY April 23, 2012

Some cooling this week as high pressure begins to shift eastward. Still a chance of some thunderstorm activity over the mountains, particularly in Mono County, today and tomorrow. Now by Wednesday, a low pressure center moves thru the district, creating the chance of rain in the valleys and snow in the mountains into Thursday. After that the system moves out of the area leaving dry conditions thru the weekend.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny then clear in the evening. Highs 80 – 85 and lows 51 – 56. Winds S 10 – 20 mph.

Tuesday: Mainly sunny then partly cloudy in the evening. Highs 76 – 81 and lows 48 – 55. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Mostly sunny with a chance of isolated showers and t-storms in the afternoon and evening . Highs 64 and lows 42. Winds S 10 – 15 mph G 25.

Tuesday: Becoming partly cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and t-storms. Highs 57 and lows 37. Winds S 5 – 10 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Becoming cloudy with a chance of afternoon showers and t-storms. Highs 68 – 78 and lows 37 – 47. Winds S 10 mph.

Tuesday: Becoming mostly cloudy a slight chance of afternoon showers and t-storms. Highs 62 – 72 and lows 36 – 46. Winds SW 10 – 15 mph.
