Dry weather today leading to wetter and colder Thursday and Friday.  A storm system moves down the coast and thru our district later tonight into Thursday with some upslope showers possible on Friday. This is a fairly dry system so not much accumulations (maybe 1 – 4  inches in the Town of Mammoth Lakes and 8 inches on Mammoth Mtn). But its the cold that comes along this system that news worthy, particularly Friday night. Expect night time temps to dip down to near zero F by Friday night in Mammoth, minus 13 in Bridgeport and around 15 in the Owens Valley. Those cold temps will persist thru the weekend.

For the Owens Valley:

Today: Partly cloudy then mostly cloudy with a 20% snow showers overnight. Highs 58 / Lows 27. Winds SE 10 – 15 mph G 30.
Thursday: 30% chance of snow showers. Highs 41 / Lows 19. Winds NW 15 – 25 mph G 30.

For the Town of Mammoth Lakes:

Today: Partly sunny then mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of snow showers. Highs 40 / Lows 16. Winds S 15 – 20 mph G 45.
Thursday: 40% chance of snow showers and windy. Highs 18 / Lows 1. Winds W 15 – 20 mph.

For Mono County:

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy a chance of snow showers overnight. Highs 42 – 47 / Lows 15 – 25. Winds SW 15 – 25 mph G 45.
Thursday: Cold with a chance of snow showers.  Highs 19 – 29 / Lows minus 10 – zero. Winds W 15 – 25 mph G 40.
