FRIDAY 16-DEC-2011

A bit breezy in some places today as surface gradients have strengthened behind yesterday’s low. Those northeasterly breezes should diminish a bit tomorrow as ridging begins to build in across the region. So the overall long range pattern looks mostly dry through the Xmas weekend with no major storms expected. There will be a few minor disturbances riding the ridge next week, bringing in some clouds, but no significant precipitation is in store for us at this time. I will be monitoring the 10 – 15 day trends for any changes in that pattern. So stay tuned for updates.

FOR THE OWENS VALLEY:

Today: Mostly sunny and mostly clear in the evening. Highs 51 and lows in the lower 20s. Winds NE 10 – 20 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Mostly sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night. Highs 53 and lows in the mid 20s. Winds NW 5 – 10 mph.

FOR THE TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES:

Today: Mostly cloudy becoming mostly clear in the evening. Highs 28 and lows 18. Winds NE 5 – 10 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Continued mostly sunny during the day then partly cloudy at night. Highs 37 and lows 21. Winds NE 5 – 10 mph.

FOR MONO COUNTY:

Today: Becoming mostly clear in the evening. Highs 32 – 37 and lows 5 – 15. Winds N 10 -15 mph.
Saturday & Sunday: Mostly sunny daytime and partly cloudy skies at night. Highs 38 – 43 and lows 8 – 18. Winds N 5 – 10 mph.

Have a Safe “Go Do It”  Weekend!
