votersSeats on the Inyo and Mono Boards of Supervisors are up for election Tuesday.   Several incumbent supervisors in both counties are trying to retain their seats but are challenged by a number of candidates.

Competing in Inyo District 2 – incumbent Supervisor Susan Cash; Jeff Griffiths, Bishop City Councilman; Russ Aldridge, small business owner.

In District 4 – Incumbent Supervisor Marty Fortney, Independence residents Nina Weisman and Christopher Dangwillo and from Big Pine – Mark Tillemans.

In District 5 – Incumbent Supervisor Richard Cervantes, Matt Kingsley and Jim Gentry.

Competing in Mono County in District 2 – Incumbent Supervisor Hap Hazard and Long Valley Fire Chief Fred Stump.

In District 3 – Incumbent Supervisor Vikki Bauer and Tim Alpers

In District 4 – Jan Huggans, Tim Fesko and Bob Peters.

Inyo and Mono also have a Congressional race in new District 8.  There are 13 candidates which some reports have said is the most candidates in a California congressional race on record.  Inyo and Mono historically have a high voter turn-out and so even our sparsely populated are is critical in this race.  A run-off is expected.
