Well as we head into the end of the year, its clear that this December has been on of the driest on record. If there is no more precipitation this month, both Fresno and Reno will tie records set back in the 1870s. Right now, the only chance of any moisture appears to be Friday, north of the Tahoe Basin. So Reno still has a chance. Other than that, the mid level blocking pattern does indeed look to hold through New Years Day. So, dry and warming conditions with some clouds overhead, will be the order of the day through this weekend, at the least.
