NBA Hall of Fame's Bill Walton

Eastern Sierra Land Trust announces a fun filled two days of events designed to showcase the dramatic Eastern Sierra landscape and connect ESLT supporters and members to this treasured land.  NBA great, bicycle enthusiast, and ESLT member and supporter Bill Walton, will participate in the weekend’s events.  “These terrific events bring together all that is right in the world and life: the magnificent Eastern Sierra, health, sport, the team, riding our bikes with purpose and passion, and the chance to make a difference in all our futures” says Bill.  “Preserving land forever really does matter on so many levels.  Won’t you come and join us and enjoy the ride?”

Basketball Clinic, Friday, July 20:  Bill Walton will conduct a basketball clinic at the Snowcreek Athletic Club in Mammoth Lakes. Bill will talk about why he supports Eastern Sierra Land Trust and its work, as well as share his secrets that helped lead him into the NBA Hall of Fame.

Bike Fun Ride, Saturday, July 21:  The day will begin with a 23 mile Bike-Fun Ride through the beautiful scenery of the June Lake Loop in the Eastern Sierra Nevada. Join Bill and other ESLT riders as they pedal along one of the most incredible roadways in America. The ride will include a gourmet “feed” station, a casual lunch at June Mountain Ski Area, a limited edition ESLT Fun Ride t-shirt, and many photo opportunities with Bill.

Gala Dinner, Saturday evening July 21:  The event will culminate with a gala dinner sponsored by Mammoth Mountain Ski Area on Saturday, July 21. The evening’s celebration will include a reception, dinner, silent auction, live music, and entertaining program with Bill Walton as MC.

Proceeds from these events will go toward supporting ESLT and its important work benefitting future generations.  ESLT works with private landowners to help them preserve their family farms, critical wildlife corridors, and scenic vistas. “ESLT is very fortunate to have the support of so many people who believe in the importance of preserving our vital lands in the Eastern Sierra,” says ESLT Director Karen Ferrell-Ingram.  “We look at this weekend as a great way for our supporters to gather and share their energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the Eastern Sierra while having fun.  We hope all people who hold a special place in their hearts for the Eastern Sierra will join us for these events.”
