Phone calls soliciting money for local fire fighters are a scam, says Bishop Fire Chief Ray Seguine. There have been reports of local people receiving phone calls from a male individual who says he is soliciting money for the local fire departments.

Chief Seguine reports that no firefighters ever ask for money by phone and that the call should be considered a scam. Seguine says that the Cal State Firefighters Association, the California Professional Firefighters, and local volunteers have never solicited money over the phone. If you get the call asking for money to support local fire fighters, consider it a scam.
