Inyo National Forest Campgrounds Opening  (PRESS RELEASE)

campground BISHOP, Calif., Apr 23, 2013 – A light winter snowpack and warm spring weather means that many campgrounds in the Eastern Sierra will be open before the 2013 fishing opener weekend (Friday, April 26th), and many more Forest Service campgrounds are expected to be open before Memorial Day.

Inyo National Forest Campgrounds in the Mammoth Lakes and June Lake area expected to open by April 24th include Silver Lake, Oh! Ridge, June Lake, Gull Lake, New Shady Rest, Old Shady Rest, Sherwin Creek and Convict Lake Campgrounds. Further south, anglers will find that McGee, French Camp, Tuff, Forks, Bitterbrush, Four Jeffrey, Big Trees, Intake Two, Upper and Lower Sage Flat Campgrounds are open.  Others currently open include Grandview Campground in the White Mountains, Lower Grays Meadow and Lone Pine Campground. Other campgrounds may also open in time for the weekend, depending on conditions.
