main_st.-mamSaturday night, California Highway Patrol Officers along with the Mammoth Police set up a DUI and unlicensed driver checkpoint on Highway 203 in Mammoth Lakes.

CHP Officer Doug Northington reports that the checkpoint ran from 6pm to 11 pm Saturday. During that time period officers screened 830 cars. Northington said that 20 cars were pulled over because the drivers appeared to have been drinking. For the night, there were four people arrested for driving under the influence. Of the four, two were local residents, and two lived outside the Mammoth Lakes area.
