Free Adult Education Classes being offered by Inyo County Superintendent of Schools Office

Know anyone that needs a little refresher on multiplying fractions? Or maybe they never learned how to summarize something they read in writing? Or perhaps they need help translating their work experience into a great cover letter. Does ICSOS have a class for them!!

Beginning September 13 and running in six-week sessions… Basic Math, Basic Reading and Writing, and Skills You Need: Personal/Career/Life

Basic Math is designed specifically to help adults overcome learning obstacles and develop math confidence. Math skills are broken down into very basic steps by focusing on one skill at a time to make math easier to understand. Basic Math will be taught on Tuesdays

Basic Reading and Writing contains ten lessons that relate to students’ life experiences and interests at a variety of levels to fit the adult learners’ skills. The classes will emphasis vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Basic Reading/Writing is on Wednesdays

Skills You Need: Personal, Career, Life will help educate those preparing to enter the workforce with information they need to help them get a job, as well as balance work and home. Classroom teaching techniques focus on active learning, offering adult learners a chance to practice their new behaviors in the supportive classroom environments before applying them in the work or home setting. Skills You Need is on Thursdays.

All classes with take place at Bishop Union High School and run 1 hour. Classes will start at 7:00pm. No Sign-up is needed, just come on down and see what you can learn.
