Press release

Bishop Nursery is pleased to announce the 2016 Garden Tour to be held Saturday, June 11th from 9am to 2pm. This year’s tour will
benefit the Bishop Community and Demonstration Garden at the back of the city park and the Inyo/Mono Master Gardener program.

Bishop Nursery started the annual garden tours in 2009 and during that time local gardeners have been able to take a peek at some
of the most outstanding yards and commercial gardens in the Owens Valley. This year 6 gardens will be featured, one of which is the
Bishop Community and Demonstration Garden.

The other featured gardens include a traditional English style garden with a bit of whimsy, a rose garden with over 200 rose varieties, a drought tolerant garden where the lawn has been removed and replanted with pollinator friendly varieties, a vegetable garden and fruit tree garden with a one of a kind greenhouse made of all repurposed items, and a beautiful natural garden often used for photographic backgrounds.

At each venue Master Gardener docents will be on hand to help identify plants and answer questions. A continuing demonstration
will take place at the fruit and vegetable garden by Master Food Preservers on how to preserve your harvest.

Tickets are $10.00 per person and will go on sale the morning of the tour at Bishop Nursery. Save your program and you will receive
a discount on garden purchases at the Nursery that day.

For more information, please contact Jean Marland (Bishop Nursery) at (760) 873-7515 or Laurie Morrow (Master Gardener) at (760) 937-9608.
