George Fowler moved to Mammoth Lakes 36 years ago in search of a small town environment. He contributed his energy and ideas to many community groups and ventures. Fowler passed away Wednesday evening at his home in Palm Desert surrounded by his loved ones.

Fowler excelled in the real estate world as owner-broker of the Coldwell Banker Mammoth Real Estate office. He was considered one of Mammoths top realtors. George also devoted his talents to public service. He served on the Tourism Commission and the Chamber of Commerce.

George Fowler played a big role in the formation of The Mammoth Times, sitting on its Board of Directors for many years. His keen mind wrapped around many town issues on which he shared views and support.

He was an avid swimmer, biker and runner, who could be seen every year at the Charthouse Run in Mammoth.
