It was another impressive victory for the unbeaten Lone Pine High School
football team, and this one came in the playoffs.

The Golden Eagles defeated visiting Lancaster Baptist 32-14 Friday in the
first round of the 8-Man Division 1 CIF-Southern Section Ford
Championships, Presented by Farmers

The road gets a little tougher for the Golden Eagles, who now face No.
2-seed Excelsior Education Center in the second round.

Lone Pine, coached by Chris Reisen, won the Hi-Lo League title and is now
9-0 on the season (with a forfeit win from Big Pine).

It’s been a great turnaround for the Golden Eagles, who were 1-7 in 2009
and 2-6 in 2010.

Quarterback Robert Hunter had another fine game for Lone Pine, rushing for
92 yards and two touchdowns and passing 7-14 for 110 yards and two
touchdowns against Lancaster Baptist.

Casey Sullivan caught both TD passes, finishing with four receptions for
74 yards. Hunter and Sullivan each had 12 tackles on defense.

Gabe Galindo had 62 yards rushing with a TD, and eight tackles on defense.

Mike Palsrok had 16 tackles to lead the defense, and 25 yards rushing.

Seth Munz caught two passes for 33 yards and had 12 tackles.

Tom Pederson (11 tackles) and Paul Lucia (8) each recovered a fumble, and
Ethan Whitney and Shane Reisen both had seven tackles.
