Golf tourney winners (Fancy Pants).

Dear Editor:

The Mono County Sheriff Search and Rescue Team (SAR) held its 5th annual Golf Tournament on August 12 at the Snowcreek Golf Course and a good time was had by all!   It was a very successful event, raising over $12,000.  The money will be used to support our new building, which is under construction, and much needed equipment.  We had dozens of sponsors, raffle prize providers and players; so many that we don’t have space to identify them all but want to send a THANK YOU to everyone who supported us.

There are a few people and organizations that we need to call out for going above and beyond the call of duty in supporting the tournament: Snowcreek for being our major sponsor and providing us with the Golf Course; Brian Venneman, the Manager of the Snowcreek Golf Course,  and his staff, for providing their expertise and any and all the assistance we need in hosting a golf tournament; Sierra Star and manager Dave Schacht for providing extra Golf Carts and a foursome; Dave Fultz from Maverick Signs for making all of our hole sponsor signs; Sheriff Rick Scholl and Chief Dan Watson for supporting us on Sunday; the Sierra Wave for telling the Eastern Sierra about the event; and our SAR volunteers who worked tirelessly on Sunday, and weeks before, to make it a fun event.  Thank you to the community, visitors, and SAR supporters everywhere for making this the most successful tournament in our history!

The Mono County Sheriff Search and Rescue Team is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives.

“We do Search and Rescue at any time, in any weather, for as long as it takes, for free.”

Sincerely,

Gary Boyd, SAR Member
