As we had reported, Harris’ trial lasted about five weeks. He had taken the stand in his own defense, denying any wrongdoing. The District Attorney’s office had leveled charges against Harris – 25 counts of lewd and lascivious acts involving a child under 14 and forcible rape of a child under 14. The jury found Harris guilty of 18 counts of lewd and lascivious acts against the two victims and one count of rape of a child under 14, according to Deputy District Attorney Todd Graham.

The jury had viewed videotaped interviews of the two victims who were, according to testimony, between the ages of 8 and 14 at the time of the crimes. Testimony had further revealed that Harris met the mother of the two girls online in 2001 and that she and her daughters had moved to Bishop with Harris and later to Chalfant Valley.

Harris was jailed prior to his trial and remains in custody.
