A dear little Pug was picked up stray on March 5th with a severely damaged left eye. It appears he had been attacked by a dog (or dogs) in the last couple of weeks as the bite wounds on his body have already started to scab over. His left eye was partially dislodged from its socket during the fracas and, in the ensuing time period, it more or less died. Once he was turned over to the Inyo County Animal Shelter in Big Pine, ICARE was contacted to see if our Stitch Fund would help Bugs get the surgery he needed.
14-03-09 Pug male 18 mo BUGS 6 ID14-03-005 - Before & After COLLAGEWe agreed and Dr. Cheryl Chong of Mountain View Animal Hospital in Bishop did a fabulous job with the eye removal. What we’re in need of at this time are donations to the ICARE Stitch Fund to help pay Bugs’ almost $400 veterinary bill. You may make a donation on-line at our web site: www.ICAREforPets.org or you can mail your gift to ICARE at Box 76, Bishop, CA 93515. Any funds raised above the amount needed for Bugs, will be set aside to help another special needs Shelter animal.
Bugs is being fostered by Lisa Schade while he recovers. She says he is a happy little chap in spite of what he’s been through. He gets along great with her pack of five dogs. He is available for adoption and the Shelter is taking applications for him. The Animal Shelter’s phone number is 760-938-2715.
