Spellbinder Books of Bishop’s 12th annual ICARE Shopping Day on December 10th was a resounding success. Ninety shoppers purchased $5 coupons with proceeds totaling $450. Coupons shown at the register resulted in a 20% discount on purchases made that day. Additional donations of $951 were added to the coupon revenue for a grand total raised in the amount of $1,401. All proceeds are going directly to the ICARE Stitch Fund, which helps ill or injured Inyo County Shelter animals receive the lifesaving veterinary care they need to be placed up for adoption and have a second chance. The Stitch Fund has helped 22 Shelter dogs and cats with their veterinary care in 2011 at a cost of over $12,000! Without this program, many of these special needs Shelter animals may have been euthanized due to County budget constraints. We’re so happy that the ICARE Stitch Fund truly saves these precious lives.

ICARE is grateful to Lynne Almeida, owner of Spellbinder Books, her staff and all the shoppers who came out to help the animals!
