In July, Mono Narcotic Agents and the Mammoth Police arrested three Mammoth residents for various charges related to the sales of cocaine. That case has now been resolved. One of the arrested has been sent to prison, one has been deported, and the third had charges dismissed.

After two months of investigations into sales of methamphetamine, cocaine, and crack, cocaine, officers served search warrants at two separate residences in Mammoth.

Officers report that while serving the warrants, 1 1/2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $4,275, were seized, along with just less than 1 ounce of cocaine worth $2,490. Scales, packaging materials, and other items related to the sales of narcotics were also found, officers say.

There were three men arrested in this case, two pleaded to charges according to Assistant District Attorney Tim Kendall. 22 year old Julio Ramirez has been convicted of sales of a controlled substance. Ramirez was sentenced to two years in state prison.

23 year old Humberto Castro pleaded to maintaining a residence for the purpose of sales of a controlled substance. Kendall reports that Castro was picked up by Immigration, and slated to be deported.

27 year old Juan Beltran is a legal resident. He had been arrested for maintaining a residence for the purpose of selling and using narcotics. Kendall reports that Beltran was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Charges against Beltran were dismissed.
