MAMMOTH HOSPITAL ENTRANCEMammoth Hospital Auxiliary Donates Nearly $140,000 to Mammoth Hospital

By Lori Ciccarelli, Mammoth Hospital Community Relations Director

Thanks to a generous contribution from the Mammoth Hospital Auxiliary, Mammoth Hospital will continue its over-the-top continuity of quality patient care. At a recent January Auxiliary general meeting, it was voted unanimously to fund several capital equipment items for the fiscal year totaling close to $140,000. These funds will support the purchase of three MP-30 vital signs monitors, a Suntech Tango stress blood pressure with PS02 monitor, seven wall-mounted computer workstations for seven in-patient rooms and a continuous flow bipolar resectoscope.

The MP-30 vital signs monitors will be used in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) monitoring patient vital signs before and after surgery. Currently, the PACU borrows vital signs monitors from other patient care units.  The Suntech Tango stress blood pressure with pulse oximetry monitor will allow for more accurate monitoring while conducting a cardiac stress test. The wall-mounted workstations will house computers, and wristband scanners in locked cabinets in patient rooms on the Medical / Surgical Unit. Due to the recent electronic documentation, this will help increase nursing efficiency and improve the quality of patient care. And lastly, the auxiliary donation will support a continuous flow bipolar resectoscope that will be used to provide surgical intervention for patients with prostate disease.

Mammoth Hospital would like to thank the Auxiliary and the community for the generous donation supporting patient care.
