Thursday during a regular meeting, the Mammoth Hospital Board will take part in a conference call with Jeff Conway of the Joint Commission on hospital accreditation. That item appears mammoth-hospital-entranceas number one under new business.

Board members were scheduled to meet in closed session at the start of the meeting at 8am Thursday. They were scheduled to meet in open session at approximately 9:30 am. After the CEO’s report and the finance report, comes the conference call with the Joint Commission, which is the body that grants hospital accreditation.

After that, review of the Southern Mono Healthcare District five-year Operating Plan. Then board members will consider the purchase of a part of a parcel of land at 180 Home St. in Bishop. Earlier, hospital officials did confirm that Mammoth Hospital purchased a building in that vicinity to “maintain current services to the residents in Inyo County.” The parcel on today’s agenda appears to be an additional piece of land on the same street.

Hospital Board members will also talk about the re-acquisition of the USFS Land Exchange Parcel from the Town of Mammoth, which paid for it on behalf of the hospital. The land is on the corner of Highway 203 and Sierra Park Road. The Town Council had earlier okayed the hospital paying out the some $1.7 million for this land.

Thursday’s board meeting was scheduled in open session at around 9:30 in the hospital administration conference rooms A & B.
