Mammoth Police report that a local man told police he was going to hurt his former employer and then actually did.

Officers said that 38 year old Scott Canfield of Mammoth Lakes broke into his former employers residence in Mammoth. Police allege that Canfield began punching the victim in the back of the head and made threats of further injury if the victim did not give him $1500 to pay his rent.

Police said Canfield fled on foot before the Mammoth Lakes Police arrived. The man was later arrested for attempted robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary. At last word, the man was in custody in the jail at Bridgeport.
