The tragic details of a traffic death in Mammoth Lakes remained under investigation. Mammoth Police Chief issued a press mlpd_3-23-10release to say that his department is investigating the circumstances of a single vehicle roll-over of a truck down an embankment.

Someone had spotted the truck wreckage down a hill in the area of Le Verne and Fir Streets in the Bluffs area of Mammoth Lakes. Police said the Toyota Tacoma had slid down about 100 feet. At the time of this discovery, Tuesday, November 23rd, deep snow filled the accident scene which involved steep terrain and near-whiteout conditions. Mammoth Fire responded to help.

Police and paramedics discovered the body of Kevin Scott Green, 30 of Summerland, California. Authorities said Green was pronounced dead at the scene and had been dead for many hours.

Chief Watson said officers will investigate the circumstances of the accident and Green/s activities before the crash. The Chief said Green was last seen alive late Saturday evening. Officers said Green may have wrecked his truck late Saturday or early Sunday during heavy snow conditions. He may have missed the 90 degree turn and went off the road.

Mammoth Police ask that anyone with information contact Detective Doug Hornbeck at 760-934-2011, extension 17.
