Boccia has worked as a principal at elementary, middle and high school levels. He also served as central office director of gifted and talented education, the extended day program and safety and security.

Mammoth officials added that Mr. Boccia has been the “key leader of many exemplary instructional initiatives and programs in his current district, which have attracted school leaders from around the country. Boccia also created an International Baccalaureate program at Blair, which he expanded to include grades 6-12. His middle school was a National Blue Ribbon and a California Distinguished School.

Officials described Blair as highly involved in the community, someone with a strong athletic background. He received his Bachelor’s degree at Syracuse University, after also studying at Temple University and receiving his Master’s Degree from California State University, Los Angeles.

Board members said that Boccia will go to work in Mammoth July 1st and will appear at a school board meeting next Thursday, June 10th with a reception for the staff and community following the ratification.
