Diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, Marge Papp made many trips to Sacramento for treatment. The Mammoth Hospital Cancer Outreach program helped defray some of the travel costs. Now that she is cancer-free, Marge wants to give back.

She will walk from Mammoth Lakes to Tom’s Place and back to raise money for the outreach program. She calls it her Second Chance walk. Cleland Hoff talked to Marge Papp about why she will take on this journey.

Marge said that after chemotherapy, radiation and other treatments she was deemed cancer-free by her doctors. She said Mammoth Hospital’s Cancer Outreach Program helped her tremendously with travel costs.

So, this Saturday, if you have some time, join Marge along Highway 395 between Tom’s Place and Mammoth. Questions? Call Greg Bissonette at 924-4128.

And, in another week – Saturday October 18th, the Eastern Sierra Breast Cancer Alliance 8th Annual 5K-10K Walk/Fun Run takes place at Bishop City Park. For information, call 920-8946.
