The photo exhibit is named “Wild Eyes in the Sierra Skies, photographs of the Eastern Sierra by ski pioneer Dave McCoy.” The exhibit opens Saturday from 5pm to 9pm at the Harris & Ruble Gallery in LA. Posner Fine Art has collaborated with the gallery for this showing which will run through November 3rd.

When McCoy retired from Mammoth Mountain Ski Area after more than 50 years of work to build the resort from the ground up, he turned to photography for expression. In fact, Dave started to use a Leica camera to document the early days of Mammoth in the 1930s. When he retired, Dave received a camera from friends, and so it started.

At 95, McCoy, along with wife Roma, spends much of his time in his Rhino shooting photos. As most know here, McCoy has long been a benefactor furthering education and culture. A percentage of the proceeds from the exhibition will raise money for the Mammoth Lakes Foundation and Mammoth Ski & Snowboard Education Foundation.

The Harris & Rubble Gallery is located at 6424 Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles.
