In March, 60-year-old Independence resident Clarke Henry Lennox was arrested for possession of property allegedly stolen from the LA Department of Water and Power. Lennox now faces additional charges in Mono County.
Lennox was arrested after Inyo Sheriff Deputies, DWP investigators, and Forest Service personnel served a search warrant at a cabin in the Seven Pines Tract above the town of Independence. Officers reportedly found tools and other equipment belonging to DWP at the cabin with an estimated value of $8,000. DWP staff had reported the alleged theft before the warrant was served.

Lennox was booked at the Inyo County Jail for felony possession of stolen property.

At the time of the arrest, officials stated that the investigation remained open. In April, Lennox was charged in Mono County for alleged grand theft. Mono District Attorney George Booth reports that Lennox is alleged to have stolen steel I-beams from a DWP site in the June Lake area. The I-beams have an estimated value of $1250.

Lennox is next set to appear in court for a pre-hearing conference June 30th.
