Press release

Adult mosquito control applications will be performed in and around Lone Pine tomorrow morning, Wednesday June 22nd and again Friday morning June 24th.

Crews will be using truck mounted fogging equipment before and near dawn to control excessive adult mosquitoes. Fogging operations should start around 4:30 am and be finished by 6:30 am depending on the weather. If it is too windy, fogging will not work and will need to be postponed.

Protect yourself from bites by wearing long pants, long sleeved shirts and head coverings when you are outside particularly in the morning and evening hours.

All are advised to avoid mosquito bites and to use insect repellent containing some of the following: DEET; Picardin; Oil of Eucalyptus; Skin so soft; Bug Guard Plus expedition and SkinSmart.

Report mosquito problems to the Owens Valley Mosquito Abatement Program at (760) 873-7853.
