A former Crowley Lake Resident, set to be sentenced in Mono County on embezzlement charges, has been arrested in Nevada on similar charges.

In June of 2008, Crowley Lake resident Peggy Henderson was charged with embezzlement from a local business. She was accused of embezzling a significant amount of money from Bills Appliance between February of 2006 and February of 2008. The Mono County case was close to being wrapped up as Henderson was set to be sentenced later this month.

Now that sentencing might be delayed. Mono District Attorney George Booth reports that Henderson has been arrested in Douglas County, Nevada, for embezzlement, grand larceny, seven counts of forgery, and other charges.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff”s Department, Henderson is alleged to have stolen $50,000 from local banks and her employer, an auto repair shop called Bobs Performance Center in Gardnerville. The owner of the business discovered the reported crime in January.

Douglas County Sheriff officials say that Henderson was also wanted out of Inyo County on a warrant related to passing a bad check. Bail was set at $15,000.
