bchWhen the Bishop City Council meets tonight, they will see one new council member take the oath of office along with two returning incumbents.

At the end of the agenda, Inyo County Clerk-Recorder Kammi Foote will present the consolidated election process that the City chose this time and the results of the City of Bishop General Municipal Election. The Council is expected to adopt a resolution that includes the facts of the election.

Following those steps, the City Administrator will deliver the oath of office to Dave Stottlemyre, Patricia Gardner and Laura Smith who were elected to the three open Council seats. Robert Kimball will take the oath as City Treasurer. The next step will be selection of a new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem.

Before all of the internal changes, the City Council will consider waiving the hiring freeze to fill current and projected police officer positions. The officials will consider adoption of an ordinance related to parking violations, and the Council will consider approval of a request to lower the rental rates of the owner-occupied mobile homes discussed at an earlier meeting.

Also on the agenda – a possible water and sewer rate study and a benefit plan known as PARS for certain employees.
