New candidates have filed to run for offices in Inyo and Mono Counties, but at last word, no one had officially filed to run for the Mammoth Town Council.

mammoth_town_officeFive candidates have taken out papers to run and announced their candidacies, but so far no one has actually turned in the paper work to officially run, according to Town Clerk Jaime Gray. Incumbent John Eastman, and former council members Rick Wood and Tony Barret have said they are running. Mathew Lehman and Dawn Vereuck have also said they are running.

The deadline to file to run for office is March 12, unless one of the current councilmembers up for re-election does not file. Right now it does appear likely that at least one of the three incumbents up for re-election will not run, which will extend the filing deadline until March 17th.
