Late Tuesday afternoon, police scanner traffic blurted out “Man with a gun!” Officers from three different agencies rushed to the area of a reported suspect on Wye Rd. in Bishop, near KMART.

When we arrived on scene, officers had arrested the suspect, 36 year old Gordon Moose, Jr. of Bishop. Inyo Sheriff’s officers said that Moose had reportedly discovered his wife in the company of another man.

The other man’s vehicle was reportedly stranded at the nearby gravel pit where Moose’s wife had driven him to retrieve it, according to detectives.

Officer said that Moose had followed them and a physical fight took place. Someone called 911 and reported that an assault had taken place and that the suspect might have a gun. The caller gave a description of Moose and his truck.

Officers from Bishop Police, the CHP and Inyo Sheriff’s Department quickly responded, saw Moose and arrested him. They found Moose’s wife and the man beaten. He was treated at Northern Inyo Hospital.

Moose faces a charge of battery with serious injury. Officers did confirm that no guns were involved in this incident.
