I think all law enforcement in the Eastern Sierra should just pack it up for a few months and just let us all sort it out on our own. If these brutish cops would just leave all of the poor drug users alone, we’d have a much better place to… Read more »

Why does “Hot Debate. What do you think?” and “Well-loved. Like or Dislike.” keep showing up on so many posts here. Is this a software feature, bug, or deliberate human-induced annoyance?
It’s part of the comment software.

What is a “plethora”?
I looked it up.

This is sad, and it makes me mad to hear people say these people deserve to be in prison because the policy’s and procedures are not leaving less drugs on the street, if you haven’t noticed, they have become easier to make and more potent, drug use should be looked… Read more »
“Pair Arrested with a Smorgasbord of Drugs”
I guess they did not know of the hassel free Smith Valley cut-off or the eastside
by-pass.
What a parade we have on 395. Keep the clown cars coming.
There’s another hassle free way that’s much simpler – don’t drive impaired, don’t carry a plethora of illegal drugs and don’t break the speed limit.
…They probably already hired a lawyer and planning a “lawsuit” against the County…
Wayne, have a problem with people defending themselves in court?
Girls just want to have fun!
Do these kids really belong in prison?
YES!
Why? Do you feel safer ? At forty thousand a year we ought to be sending them to college.
Yes they do.
Please, people. Innocent until proven guilty. Don’t want to try them here.

Why would SW use “plethora of” in this headline? Sounds like a plethora of hyperbole on your part. Besides the cannabis, there is 2 doses of LSD, 4 doses of mushrooms, 5 doses of “ecstasy”. I don’t consider three substances in personal use amounts a “plethora”. Possible DUI is the… Read more »
Pedro – I wrote that headline and stand by it, despite some opinions that there was not a “plethora” of drugs. I count three types of cannabis, LSD, mushrooms and ecstasy – yes, I consider that an abundance of drugs for a trip (pun intended) to Tahoe or wherever. Hyperbole… Read more »

Bob Todd….You have to understand, for some,if it’s to be considered a “plethora” of drugs in ones vehicle,it has to be an amount with the weight of a 12 foot overhead camper in order to warrant a search and arrest….or even a reason for LE not look the other way….and it… Read more »
I am impressed BK; you possess a rare combination of kindness and wisdom in your editorial skills. Your demarcation line is quite a bit wider than the big news groups. For me, it keeps the story interesting by leaving a lot more of the human side open for discussion but… Read more »
You went so low so early in life. A sad commentary.
DT, you went so condescending late in life. A sad commentary.
Somewhat debatable, but probably not.
Sounds like my prom night in the 70’s.
Barely enough to get through a Cheech and Chong album collection.
The ” mules” never learn, do they ?
LSD? Mushrooms? Naughty, Naughty, Naughty… Definitely not a plethora as in superabundance, yet a wide and varied selection. Sorry to see such an innocent LooKING young couple mixed up in so much Trouble. Moral of the story? I can smell your burning weed in front of me on 395 @… Read more »
How come I cannot get the lyrics to White Rabbit out of my head now, heh, heh, heh. Were they on their way to see Alice?
“Welcome to Mono County, Please step out from your vehicle.”
“Do you need a free room at The Mono County Inn?”
“Was your visit a pleasant one?”
“Then we hope to see you again soon!”
