A 40 year old Lone Pine woman has pleaded to charges related to a reported sexual assault of a girl under the age of 18.

According to Assistant District Attorney Mark Johnson, Julia Norman of Lone Pine was charged with a form of statutory rape, forcible penetration of a minor due to intoxication, oral copulation of a minor under the influence, and providing a controlled substance to a minor, after an incident about a year ago that involved a 17 year old girl. The incident allegedly took place at Normans residence in Lone Pine.

Johnson reports that Norman has pleaded to the charge of providing a controlled substance to a minor, in this case the substance was the prescription drug Vicodin. The charges stemming from the alleged sexual assault were dismissed under the plea agreement, but can be taken into consideration during sentencing, Johnson says. Norman faces up to 9 years in prison for the charge of providing a controlled substance to a minor.
