What Mammoth Police described as a domestic dispute escalated into the arrest of a local man on the charge of attempted murder.

 

Mammoth Police said that they arrested 39-year-old Jorge Tapia Solis after a 911 call and a chase through town. Officers said that Solis and the victim in this case were in a relationship that was “falling apart.” The pair have a one-year-old child.

Police said that at about 1:30 am, Mammoth Police received a 911 call from the vict6im that Solis was threatening her. Officers responded, but Solis fled from the home. Police chased him through town and finally caught him on Joaquin St.

Officers said that through a translator, police learned from the victim that she and Solis had argued. She asked him to leave and the altercation turned physical. Officers said the woman told them Solis held a knife to her throat.

Police took Solis to jail in Bridgeport where he was booked on attempted murder, criminal threats and child endangerment. The one-year-old daughter of the couple was present during the alleged assault and was reportedly slightly injured.
