More than a eyar ago, Bobbie Sheffield, who called himself a reverend and a PHD, worked as director of the Resource Center in Mammoth Lakes. After an investigation, police arrested Sheffield for alleged embezzlement. He disappeared before the Court sentenced him.
Recently, Sheffield surfaced and paid his dues. According to Deputy District Attorney Todd Graham, Sheffield was sentenced to two years on one felony theft charge, plus eight months on a second felony theft-related charge.
Graham said that Sheffield turned up after an absence. The Court did grant the prosecutors request to hold Sheffield in jail until his sentencing hearing.
Last Fall, Mammoth Police had alleged that Sheffield used the Resource Center credit card to make a down payment on a used Mercedes, among other allegations.
